Why this matters
Uniswap just opened the door to Solana on its web app. You can connect a Solana wallet and swap SOL tokens without leaving the interface. This is about fixing fragmentation in DeFi. Two big worlds, Ethereum and Solana, have grown apart. Uniswap wants them in one clean place. Tremendous convenience for users. Less friction for new entrants.
Uniswap said in a Thursday blog post that with support built in, users can access tokens across Ethereum, Solana, Unichain, Base, and more, directly from the web app. No more jumping to a separate Solana page to trade.
What users can do today
Decentralized exchange Uniswap confirmed that its web application now supports Solana. Connect your Solana wallet. Swap SOL. Stay in one app. Simple. Direct. That is how you grow real volume and a broader audience.
"That kind of fragmentation makes DeFi harder than it should be," the team wrote, noting that it raises the barrier for newcomers and adds needless friction for experienced swappers. The move is designed to make cross-ecosystem trading feel familiar and fast.
What comes next
This is only phase one. Uniswap says the next steps include bridging, cross-chain swaps, and full Uniswap Wallet support. The aim is clear. One experience. Many chains. Beautiful execution if they ship it right.
Since launching in 2020, Solana has become a major DeFi venue thanks to high speed and low cost. As of October 2025, Solana holds over $10.9 billion in total value locked, per DefiLlama. See the data: https://defillama.com/chain/solana
DeFi needs fewer walls and more flow. Uniswap is pushing in that direction. Everybody knows it.
