Prediction markets are having a tremendous year. Everybody is talking about them. The volume is huge, and the interest is incredible. Now, it looks like Coinbase is getting ready to enter the arena in a big way. A top tech researcher has caught them quietly building a dedicated website to take over the space.
Jane Manchun Wong, who is famous for discovering unreleased features on Facebook and X before anyone else knows they exist, found the evidence. She posted on X on Tuesday that Coinbase is "working on a prediction market." She shared multiple screenshots that show exactly what they are cooking up.

The Kalshi Connection

The leak reveals a very smart play. The screenshots show a prediction market offered by Coinbase Financial Markets—that is their derivatives arm—but it is powered by Kalshi.
This makes perfect sense. On Nov. 13, Coinbase and Kalshi partnered officially, with the exchange acting as the custodian for Kalshi’s USDC-based event contracts. Now, it looks like they are integrating the whole experience. The leaked images show a clean interface splashed with the Coinbase logo, FAQs, and a branded guide.
Coinbase, Predictions, Social Media

According to the discovery, the platform is set to allow betting with USDC or US dollars. They are covering all the bases: economics, sports, science, politics, and technology. The site also hints that new markets will be added regularly.

The Race for the "Everything Exchange"

Coinbase is not hiding their ambition. They told CNBC back in July that they plan to offer prediction markets as part of a bid to create an "everything exchange." They want to do it all.
They are joining a crowded field. Prediction markets have become one of the hottest crypto offerings this year, with volumes on Kalshi and Polymarket surging. Competitors are scrambling to cash in. Crypto.com recently started offering a prediction markets platform, which is set to be integrated with Trump Media.
Gemini is also making moves. They are planning to launch a prediction markets platform as part of their "super app" initiative. They said last week that they filed to become a designated contract market with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to offer the platform. Everyone wants a piece of this pie, but Coinbase is moving fast.
