The alert

Check your inbox. A fake update is hunting your coins. Blockstream raised the flag on a new email phishing campaign. The bait targets Jade hardware wallet users. The email tells you to download a firmware file. The link is malicious. The goal is your keys.
Blockstream said it never sends firmware files through email. It confirmed on Friday that no data has been compromised. The warning is clear. The threat is real.

How the scam works

Phishing is simple. It looks like help. It steals like a pro. Attackers copy the tone of real support. They use short messages. They add urgency. They push you to click. The fake Jade email fits the pattern. One link. One trap.
Numbers tell the story. Phishing scams cost users over 12 million in August. More than 15,000 victims were hit. That was a 67 percent jump from July, according to Scam Sniffer. The broader toll is brutal. Users lost over 3.1 billion to scams and hacks in the first half of 2025, said security firm Hacken. This is not a blip. This is the battlefield.

Stay sharp, keep your keys

You win by slowing down. You lose by clicking first. Verify every URL before you touch it. Scammers spoof domains with tiny changes. A zero for an “o.” A missing dot. It fools the eye. Bookmark the real sites. Use those bookmarks every time. Do not rely on search ads. Paid placements can be traps.
Do not click links from unknown senders. Type the site yourself if you must. Use a VPN to mask your IP. Read the message like a skeptic. Bad grammar is a tell. Demands for passwords or seed phrases are a dead giveaway. No real team asks for those. Ever.
The market rewards speed. Security rewards discipline. You can move fast and protect your stack. You just need a rule you never break. Trust nothing in your inbox. Verify everything on your own. Then act.
